Firefighters respond to house fire in Pinellas Park

Crews from Pinellas Park Fire Rescue responded to reports of a house fire at 7765 58th Street N at approximately 7:55 p.m.

Arriving crews reported smoke and flames showing from the two story home. According to the Pinellas County Property Appraiser’s Office, the home is approximately 2,000 square feet and was built in 1916.

Duke Energy was called to respond to the scene since powerlines were down in the front of the home and lying across a vehicle in the driveway.

Due to instability of the structure, firefighters went into a defensive mode and additional units were requested to respond to the scene.

At least two people were evaluated for smoke inhalation and transported to a local hospital for further medical evaluations.

The Pinellas Park Fire Department was assisted by the Pinellas Park Police Department, Lealman Fire Rescue, City of Seminole Fire Rescue, Duke Energy, Sunstar Paramedics and American Red Cross.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation and the Division of the Florida State Fire Marshal was notified.
