Gulfport Police Say Deceased Man Located on the Beach Early Wednesday Morning was Likely an Accidental Drowning
Gulfport Police continue to investigate what appears to be an accidental drowning. Officers were dispatched to the Gulfport beachfront in the 5700 block of Shore Blvd S at approximately 12:24 am on Wednesday, September 27, 2017.
The initial call was in reference a body located in the water. Officers recovered the body of 43 year-old Keith Tabor.
Investigators say that clothing and personal items were located on a nearby bench at the beach. It appears the man went for a swim as he was found wearing swim trunks only.
A handwritten receipt for room number 110 was located with his property but the identification and/or location of that room is unknown.
Based on the receipt payment information, police believe he is still residing in room 110.
Law enforcement is requesting anyone with knowledge of Mr. Tabor’s recent location to please contact Det. Crowson at 727-893-1043.
There were no signs of foul play and the initial investigation appears to be an accidental drowning.
Police say that alcohol is believed to be involved in this incident.
