Hillsborough Crash Involving a Zebra Under Investigation
On Friday, May 5. 2017 at approximately 1:58 pm a traffic crash occurred in the area of 672 involving an escaped Zebra.
Nathaniel Jolley of Riverview was driving a Ford F150 pick up truck westbound on 672 just east of Amber Sweet Lane when an adult female Zebra which was walking along the south side of 672 ran into the driver’s side of the truck.
The impact broke the side mirror and shattered the mirror with some of the glass hitting the driver which received some small lacerations.
The Zebra then fled into a field on 672. Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office aviation responded and was able to locate the Zebra which was corralled by deputies and employees of the owner.
Jolley was transported to Brandon Hospital by a private vehicle to be checked. The Zebra was returned to the owner, Jennifer Caudill of Balm.
