Arrest made in St. Petersburg homicide investigation

Detectives are currently on-scene of what is being called a homicide investigation at a home in St. Petersburg.

Officers responded to a call about a suspicious circumstance at a home at 3410 38th Street N at approximately 1:20 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.

Upon arrival officers discovered an adult man deceased in the garage.

Officers arrested 38 year-old Jeffery Tillman and charged him with 1st degree murder. Tillman had been working on renovations at the home.

Jeffery Tillman was hired by the owner of the house to
work on some renovations. The victim, 65 year-old Deno Conley, was a longtime acquaintance of Tillman.
When Conley went to the house to see Tillman, Tillman stabbed him.

Clearwater Police assisted the St. Petersburg Department in arresting Tillman Tuesday evening.
