To commemorate the tragic events of September 11, 2001, which resulted in the death of hundreds of Fire and Law Enforcement professionals as well as many civilians, the department will observe a Moment of Silence at all St. Pete Fire Stations on Wednesday. At 9:57 a.m., units will position apparatus on the front aprons of fire stations with emergency lights on. All personnel will be at attention in front of their fire apparatus and will prominently display “Never Forget 9/11” signs. At 9:59 a.m., a moment of silence remembering the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice when the South Tower collapsed, as announced by dispatch. For a list of station addresses go to:
