Officers from the Largo Police Department responded to a call for service at the Whispering Pines Mobile Home Park located at 7501 142nd Avenue N. Officers arrived at the residence at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022.
Two adults were found deceased inside one of the mobile homes. According to a resident, a family member entered the mobile home and found the two bodies.
During the course of the investigation, it was learned that in the early morning hours of December 19, 2022, 46-year-old Ricardo Ortiz Gomez shot and killed his girlfriend, 30-year old Sharry Colon, in bed while she was sleeping. Ortiz Gomez then committed suicide.
Ortiz Gomez and Colon were described as having a tumultuous relationship. According to friends and family, Colon was planning on leaving Ortiz Gomez.
This is still an active investigation, and no further details are available.
