Son Charged With First Degree Murder After Shooting His Father in Tarpon Springs Home

On Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at approximately 1:02 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call that came from 1641 Lonesome Pine Lane where a male had called advising that he had shot his father.

Upon arrival, officers located 68 year old James Costello who was pronounced deceased on scene in a bedroom on the 3rd floor of the residence.

The son, 25 year old Evan Costello, was taken into custody, and interviewed by detectives.

The scene was secured and investigators obtained a search warrant for the premises through the State Attorney’s Office.

Both lived together at the residence listed above and no other persons are known to reside there.

Evan Costello was booked into Pinellas County Jail on charges of First Degree Murder.
