Largo man dies, passenger critically injured in St. Petersburg motorcycle crash

Officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department responded to a motorcycle crash in the 500 block of Tyrone Boulevard North at approximately 10:22 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024.

According to investigators, Michael Thomas Frye Jr., 39, of Largo, was operating a 2008 Harley Davidson southbound when he failed to negotiate an eastbound turn. The motorcycle struck a tree on the south side of the intersection.

Frye and his passenger, Lynn Marie Bingham, 50, of Mississippi, were transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg. Frye died from his injuries. Bingham sustained life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash.
