Largo Police Investigating Death After Woman Found on US-19
On August 23, 2017 at approximately 3:17 a.m., the Largo Police Department responded to a report of a person down on near 16080 US Hwy 19 N.
Officers arrived and located a female in the southbound breakdown lane of US 19 near the overpass of E Bay Dr.
Initial reports included information that she was wrapped in a garbage bag. Officers searched the scene, located vehicle parts in the roadway, and determined that this was a vehicle crash.
There is evidence that the female had mental health issues and was walking in the roadway. The female was not wrapped in the garbage bag, but was wearing the dark garbage bag as clothing.
Traffic Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began an investigation. The vehicle has been located after a driver reported striking an unknown object on the roadway.
The driver is cooperating with the investigation and alcohol does not appear to have been factor in the crash.
The female pedestrian was identified as 34 year-old Vilayphone Sinnavong. She was pronounced deceased on scene and her injuries were consistent with the vehicle crash. The investigation is on-going at this time.
