Today at approximately 3:10 PM, a Largo Police Officer was responding to a report of a vehicle vs pedestrian crash.  According to Lt. Paul Amadeo of the Largo Police Department, the officer was driving east bound on East Bay Drive and was proceeding through the intersection at Belcher Rd.  The officer’s lights and sirens were active as he proceeded through the intersection.  A white Dodge challenger with a sole female occupant was north bound on Belcher Rd. approaching East Bay at the same time.  She proceeded into the intersection striking the cruiser.  The driver of the Challenger was transported to Largo Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.  The officer was treated and released. The case remains under investigation.
