At approximately 12:46 PM on Friday, May 15, 2015, a 31 year-old transient named Michael Jon Neubecker robbed the Grow Financial Credit Union located at 10801 Starkey Road in unincorporated Largo.
According to detectives, once inside the credit union, Neubecker passed a note to the clerk, demanding money. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and exited the bank.
As the suspect was fleeing, another customer in the credit union, Eric Haritakis, chased him down and escorted him back to the bank. Haritakis is a business owner and founder of Zen Body Foods located in Largo, Florida. In addition, he is certified in mixed martial arts, CrossFit and fitness nutrition.
Haritakis gave chase and eventually used zip ties and duct take to subdue the suspect while awaiting the arrival of Pinellas County Sheriff Deputies.
