A 37 year-old Ryan Nelson from Lutz was killed in a single vehicle motorcycle crash early this morning. The crash occurred at about 1:49 AM on Saturday, February 4, 2017 in Pasco County.
According to FHP, the man was traveling eastbound on SR-54 in the outside lane approaching US-41 on a 2001 Harley Davidson FXSTDI.
The rider merged into the right turn lane to attempt a turn for southbound US-41. During the turn, he collided with the curb and was thrown from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
FHP states that alcohol was not a factor in the crash and the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
