Gulfport Police have detained a 64 year-old man following a stabbing incident.
The stabbing incident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2020, in the 2700 block of 48th St S.
The suspect, 64 year-old James Leach, fled the scene prior to arrival of officers.
Shortly before 7 p.m., Gulfport police announced that Leach was taken into custody.
The victim was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg as a trauma with alert with serious injuries.
