Man Arrested After Armed Burglary At A Home In Pinellas Park
On May 15th, 2014 at approximately 5:50pm, Ralph N. Chapman forced his way into the residence of a former co-worker, David N. Wendel.
50 year-old Chapman of Pinellas Park was armed with a Ruger handgun during the commission of this offense. While Wendel attempted to forced Chapman from his home, Chapman drew the firearm from the rear of his pants and pointed it at Wendel while threatening to kill him.
Chapman fled the scene prior to the arrival of police officers and discarded the firearm in the rear of a residential yard. The firearm was recovered by officers at the scene.
Chapman was located and taken into custody at 6:51pm without offering any resistance. He was transported to the Pinellas County Jail and was booked on Armed Burglary and Aggravated Assault charges.
Wendel did not suffer any injuries during the incident.
This incident occurred at 6874 80th Ave N in Pinellas Park.
