Man dead after crashing into Beall’s department store in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg police is investigating a fatal crash into the back of a shopping center at 7899 MLK St. N.

At about 2:16 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2020, a minivan drove into the back of the Bealls department store.

The driver, Mladen Kravarusic, was the only one in the 2013 Dodge Grand CaravanĀ and he died at the scene. Police stated that Kravarusic was traveling west on 79th Terrace North at a high rate of speed.

For an unknown reason, he drove through the rear parking lot, into the rear wall of Bealls Department Store.

No one else was injured inside the store.
