Officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department charged 36 year-old Gary Washington Jr. with second degree murder.
Shortly before 5 p.m., on Saturday, October 30th, a man was robbed and beaten near the parking lot at 3077 50th Ave. South. Police responded and arrested Gary Nickole Washington Jr., for strong arm robbery.

The victim, a 42- year- old man with no known address, refused medical treatment at the scene.
The following morning, just before noon, the victim was found deceased near the parking lot.

Washington was also charged today with 2nd degree murder. The case is still under investigation.
The victim’s name will be released once police locate and notify next of kin.
