Man fleeing from police causes rollover crash on Belcher Road in Pinellas Park

The Pinellas Park Police Department (PPPD) is investigating a rollover crash that occurred on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at approximately 9:25 p.m.

Officers from the PPPD attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu due to an “excessive window tint.” According to arrest information, 36 year-old Jamarcus Williams of St. Petersburg refused to stop and accelerated away from the officer. Williams reportedly entered Belcher Road after failing to stop a stop sign and collided with another vehicle. That vehicle, that was struck, rolled over as a result of the collision.

Williams was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with non-life threatening injuries. The occupant(s) of the other vehicle remained on scene.

Officers searched Williams vehicle and located multiple clear plastic bags containing numerous controlled substances.

Williams was incarcerated in the Florida prison system three times. His most recent release was in October 2020 after sentenced to 5 years. He is currently on supervised release through July 20, 2021.

Williams is facing the following charges
Driving with a suspended or revoked drivers license
Fleeing and eluding
Violation of parole (burglary)
Possession of hydrocodone
Possession of crack cocaine
Possession of ecstasy
Possession of marijuana
Reckless driving with property damage
