Man Found Dead on St. Petersburg Roadway Following a Physical Altercation Saturday Night
St. Petersburg Police continue to investigate the death of a 59 year-old male in the 2000 block of 17th Avenue South.
Police were called to the scene shortly before midnight on Saturday, September 29, 2018 where a 59 year-old man was found deceased in the roadway.
Investigators learned a physical altercation had occurred between the victim, and a woman he was socializing with in a nearby empty lot. During the fight, the man suffered an injury and died.
The woman, 54 year-old Nancy Walker of St. Petersburg, was taken into custody for a separate charge of battery on a law enforcement officer. For now, that is the only charge she faces.
The death is still under investigation and additional charges are possible.
The victim’s name hasn’t been released as police are trying to reach next of kin.
