Arrest Made After Man Shot and Killed at the Cedar Hollow Apartments in Pinellas Park
Pinellas Park Police responded to the report of a person shot at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2018.
The incident occurred at the Cedar Hollow Apartments located at 7231 Cedar Court in Pinellas Park.
The caller indicated that an adult male subject was lying on the ground following a disturbance. Officers and medical personnel responded to the scene and immediately rendered aid to a male subject that had been shot. Rescue personnel transported the man to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where he died Saturday morning.
Pinellas Park Police have released the deceased man’s identity as 63 year-old Lawrence Fagan of Palm Harbor, Florida.
During the investigation homicide detectives learned that the victim Fagan and 40 year-old Corey Small of St. Petersburg became involved a verbal argument inside of an apartment.
Detectives believe that during the argument Corey Small shot Mr. Fagan multiple times which resulted in the death of Mr. Fagan.
Detectives obtained a 2nd degree murder warrant for the arrest of Corey Small, who was taken into custody in St. Petersburg in the evening of November 19, 2018 with the assistance of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
Corey Small was booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
