Motorcyclist dead after overnight crash on 54th Avenue N

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) are currently investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist. The crash occurred shortly after 2 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022.

The motorcycle, operated by a 60 year-old female from Kenneth City, was traveling eastbound on 54th Avenue North, in the right lane, approaching 31st Street North.

Troopers say that the motorcyclist lost control for unknown reason and the motorcycle collided with a curb west of 31st Street North. Upon impact, the rider was thrown from the motorcycle which continued onto the shoulder and struck a fence. The rider landed in the eastbound travel lanes where she was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle, operated by a 24 year-old male from Bradenton, was traveling eastbound on 54th Avenue North at the time.
