Officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department are currently investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcyclist. The crash occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Friday , May 6, 2022.
A black Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by a 39 year old man was eastbound on 38th Avenue North, approaching 34th Street North.
A red Chevy Traverse was westbound on 38th Avenue North, approaching.34th Street North. The Traverse made a left turn onto 34th Street North into the motorcycle’s path of travel and he crashed into the front passenger corner of the Traverse.
The motorcycle driver, 39 year-old Efrain Espinosa Jr (12/11/1982) was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where he died.
His name will be released once St. Petersburg Police confirms next of kin notification.
The other driver suffered no injuries and was released from the crash scene after talking to investigators. This crash is still under investigation.
