Officers from the Largo Police Department are currently investigating a fatality crash on Clearwater Largo Road just south of 8th Avenue SW. The crash occurred at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021.
Members of Largo Fire Rescue and Largo Police Department were dispatched to a single vehicle motorcycle crash in the area of Clearwater Largo Road and 9th Ave SW. Based on preliminary information, investigators say that the operator of a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling northbound Ridge Rd SW at an “elevated” speed prior to striking the cement curb island median.Â
The driver was pronounced deceased on-scene by medical personal. The Largo Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is conducting the investigation. The roadway will be shut down until approximately 1:00am.
