Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Park Street in St. Petersburg
St. Petersburg Police continue to investigate a crash involving a motorcyclist that killed 30 year-old Michael Aaron Baker of St. Petersburg.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:25 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018 in the 400 block of Park Street in St. Petersburg.
Leading up to the crash, a 2016 Dodge Ram box truck, driven by 28 year-old Andriy Dorosh of St. Petersburg was southbound on Park Street North in the median lane.
Baker was operating 2018 Yamaha motorcycle northbound on Park Street North at a very high rate of speed according to investigators.
Baker leaned his motorcycle into the right hand turn, but lost control and slid into the southbound lanes, striking the front of the box truck in the 400 block of Park Street N.
Baker, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg in life threatening condition. He was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.
The investigation is continuing.
