SEMINOLE — A 45-year-old motorcyclist was killed Thursday afternoon in a crash involving a Tesla on Seminole Boulevard, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to the crash at Seminole Boulevard and 53rd Avenue North at approximately 4:16 p.m. on August 20, 2026.
According to investigators, 55-year-old Vien Dinh of Sarasota was driving a 2025 Tesla Model 3 northbound on Seminole Boulevard. At the same time, 45-year-old Morgan Svensson of Largo was traveling southbound on Seminole Boulevard on a 2006 Honda CBR 1000R motorcycle.
Investigators said Dinh entered the left-turn lane and attempted to turn west onto 53rd Avenue North. The Tesla turned into the path of Svensson’s motorcycle, resulting in a T-bone collision.
Svensson was ejected from the motorcycle. He was transported to HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Dinh was not injured and cooperated with deputies at the scene.
According to investigators, speed appears to have been a factor in the crash.
Svensson’s next of kin has been notified.
The investigation remains ongoing.
