Officers from the Largo Police Department continue to investigate a fatal crash involving an adult motorcyclist. The crash occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2022.
The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of US Hwy 19 N on the Whitney Rd overpass and involved a motorcycle and a Ford truck.
According to investigators, the motorcyclist made a lane change from the right lane to the middle lane without checking if traffic was clear. As a Ford truck passed it, the motorcyclist made the lane change into the trailer the pickup was hauling.
The motorcyclist lost control and crashed into the cement barrier wall. He was transported to a local hospital where he died from this injuries.
The roadway is now open and the investigation is still
ongoing.
