Motorcyclist Seriously Injured After Being Entrapped Under a Vehicle on US-19 in Palm Harbor
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of US-19 just prior to Alderman Road.
According to troopers, the crash involved an SUV, pickup truck and a motorcycle. All three vehicles were traveling northbound on US-19 approaching Alderman Road in adjacent lanes.
The driver of the Chevy SUV, 62 year-old Sharon Pridemore of New Port Richey, changed lanes. As she changed lanes she collided with a 2002 Honda motorcycle. The motorcycle was being operated by 56 year-old Mario Eden of Port Richey.
Eden, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle and into the path of a 2008 Chevy pickup. Eden became entrapped under the pickup truck. He was extricated by firefighters and transported to the Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point. Eden is listed in serious condition at this time.
The pickup truck was operated by a 45 year-old New Port Richey man.
Pridemore was cited for an improper lane change.
