A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash on Clearwater Beach.
Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue were called to the crash at 7:28 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 on Clearwater Beach.Â
Police say a pickup and motorcycle collided at Gulfview Boulevard and Fifth Street.
The motorcyclist was flown via Bayflite as a trauma alert to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
Invedtigators say that the injuries to the 29-year-old motorcyclist do not appear to be life-threatening at this time.
He continues to be treated at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
According to the preliminary investigation, witnesses say he was driving recklessly and speeding immediately before the crash, which occurred when he crossed the center line and slammed head-on into a pickup.
Gulfview Boulevard is closed to traffic between Second Street and Hamden Drive for the investigation.
