CLEARWATER – A crash on State Road 580 sent a motorcyclist to the hospital with serious injuries on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 12:33 p.m. east of Summerdale Drive.

Troopers say a 95-year-old Clearwater woman was driving a Honda Accord eastbound on SR-580 and stopped in the center turn lane. As she attempted to turn left, her vehicle entered the path of a westbound Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by a 40-year-old Clearwater woman.
The motorcycle struck the sedan, and the rider sustained serious injuries. She was transported via helicopter to a Tampa trauma center.
