No Injuries After Multiple Shots Fired at Sarasota Ambulance

Sarasota Police Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred in the 2900 block of Goodrich Avenue, Sarasota, at approximately 4 a.m. 

Officers were dispatched to the area after the Sarasota County Fire Department (SCFD) reported being shot at during a call.

SCFD was dispatched to 2932 Goodrich Avenue, for an individual who had fallen.  When SCFD arrived, they were told by the resident at the address that they did not call.

This morning it was believed while outside their ambulance, an unknown person, fired at the ambulance. 

After learning more through the investigation, paramedics were inside the ambulance when the shooting occurred.

When paramedics returned to their ambulance and closed the door, it was at that time an unknown person, fired several shots at the ambulance, striking  the front driver’s side door at least twice.  Both paramedics were able to get  away safely. 

No one was injured.  The unknown subject, believed to be a male last seen wearing a hoodie, fled on foot and has not been located at this time.
