Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle on 49th Street North in St. Petersburg

A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night in St. Petersburg.

According to investigators, the crash occurred on May 10, 2026, at approximately 9:17 p.m. at the intersection of 49th Street North and 62nd Avenue North.

Police say a 35-year-old St. Petersburg man was driving a Chevy Colorado southbound on 49th Street North when an unidentified male pedestrian attempted to walk across the roadway. The pedestrian entered the path of the vehicle and was struck.

The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
