Pedestrian Fatally Injured in Clearwater Collision on Druid Road at Duke Energy Trail

Shortly before 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue were called to the scene of a collision between a pickup truck and a pedestrian.

The crash occurred on Druid Road at the Duke Energy Trail.

The pedestrian, a 67-year-old male, was heading north on the trail when the westbound pickup truck struck him.

He was transported to Morton Plant Hospital but died due to his injuries shortly after arrival.

The driver of the truck stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

It has been almost 13 years since the inception of IONTB.
