Pedestrian killed crossing Palm Harbor Boulevard on Christmas Eve

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol continue to investigate a crash that killed a Palm Harbor man on Christmas Eve.

The crash occurred as the pedestrian, 59 year-old Mark MacDonald, attempted to cross Palm Harbor Boulevard near Maryland Avenue at approximately 8:07 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2019.

Troopers say he was struck by a 2018 Hyundai Genesis driven by a 52 year-old Tarpon Springs resident.

The Hyundai was traveling northbound on Palm Harbor Boulevard just south of Maryland Avenue when MacDonald attempted to cross the roadway and entered the path of the car.

MacDonald was transported to Advent Health hospital where he died from this injuries.

Neither the driver nor any of his three other passengers were injured in the crash.

No charges are expected in this case.
