Troopers investigate fatal crash involving a pedestrian on Starkey Road

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) are investigating a fatal crash on Starkey Road just north of Park Boulevard.

The crash occurred at approximately 8:19 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2021.

FHP investigating fatal crash on Starkey Road

The pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck and transported to a local hospital due to critical injuries. According to FHP, the pedestrian dies from the injuries.

The driver of the Ford pickup truck was only identified as a 45 year-old male from Largo. The pickup truck was traveling northbound on Starkey Road. A 64 year-old male pedestrian from Seminole was walking westbound across Starkey Road and entered into the path of the pickup truck

All northbound lanes of Starkey Road remained closed during the investigation.
