Pedestrian killed on I-275 after struck by a dump truck

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian.

The crash occurred shortly before 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022 on I-275 in St. Petersburg.

Troopers say that a dump truck, operated by a 57 year-old, was traveling northbound on I-275 near milepost 18 when a pedestrian walked into the path of the vehicle for unknown reason. 

As a result, the dump truck struck the 37 year-old female pedestrian, from St. Petersburg, who suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
