Pedestrian Killed After Walking in Front of Motorcyclist in Tampa
Investigators from the Florida Highway Patrol have been on-scene of fatality crash since about 4:30 PM Monday afternoon. The crash occurred at N 56th Street and Neal Drive in Tampa, FL.
Larry Richard Gregory, age 46 of Temple Terrace, was traveling northbound on North 56th Street south of Neal Drive in the inside lane on a 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle.
Kevin Mathenge, age 28 of Tampa, was improperly attempting to cross North 56th Street westbound, south of Neal Drive, and walked into the path of the motorcycle.
Gregory was ejected from the motorcycle as it overturned after colliding with Mathenge.
Gregory was treated on-scene for minor injuries according to Troopers.
Mathenge was transported to Tampa General Hospital where he died from his injuries.
No charges are pending according to the preliminary crash report.
