Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to the scene of a pedestrian-involved crash with serious injuries in the 300 block of South Belcher Road.
The crash occurred at approximately 1;40 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2021.
The pedestrian, a 65-year-old man, is in critical but stable condition at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
Police say that he was attempting to cross South Belcher Road amid traffic in both directions outside a crosswalk when he was struck by a 2014 Hyundai Tucson traveling north. Impairment is thought to have played a role in the crash on the part of the pedestrian.
Northbound lanes of Belcher Road between
Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard and Rainbow Drive were closed during the investigation.
