Pedestrian struck and killed in Treasure Island hit and run crash

Officers from the Treasure Island Police Department are currently on-scene of a fatality crash involving a pedestian. An arrest was announced on Saturday, December, 10, 2022.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 in the area of 108th Avenue and Gulf Boulevard in Treasure Island.

According to investigators, 46-year-old pedestrian Felicia White was in a marked crosswalk walking northbound on Gulf Boulevard, crossing 108th Avenue North. A dark blue pickup truck, possibly a Chevrolet Silverado, was traveling southbound on Gulf Boulevard and entered the left turn lane to head eastbound on 108th Avenue North. Investigators say the pickup truck struck White in the crosswalk and fled the scene.

White was pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin has been notified. 

According to investigators, the suspect vehicle is described as a dark blue Chevrolet Silverado Regular Cab Work Truck.

On Thursday morning, the PCSO announced that the vehicle, a 2020 Chevy Silverado, was located.

On December 10, 2022, deputies arrested 62-year-old John Dennelly of 13062 Gulf Boulevard in Madeira Beach.

Dennelly is the owner of the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado. Deputies say he was driving the
truck on the evening of December 6, 2022, when it was involved in the fatal hit and run crash that killed Felicia White.

Dennelly was charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death and transported to the Pinellas County Jail. As of 9 p.m., records show he bonded out with an assessed amount of $50,000.

The investigation continues.
