Largo Police Department continues to investigate after a pedestrian was killed in a crash that occurred on Friday, August 23rd at approximately 8:44 p.m.
First responders were dispatched to southbound Frontage Rd south of East Bay Dr in reference to a vehicle versus pedestrian crash.
Investigators say that a pedestrian entered the roadway from the low light, grassy median.Â
The motorist, who was beginning to enter the ramp onto southbound US-19 N, had the right away and did not see the pedestrian.Â
The vehicle struck the pedestrian causing serious bodily injury which resulted in the pedestrian being ground transported to the Largo Medical Center.
The adult male pedestrian died at the hospital.
The driver was released from the scene and police say alcohol was not a factor.
