Deputies assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) are investigating a vehicle vs pedestrian crash in North Redington Beach. The crash occurred at approximately 11:18 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2019.
According to investigators, 35-year-old Alex Lyons was driving his 2015 Dodge Dart southbound on Gulf Boulevard, approaching the Double Tree Resort located at 17120 Gulf Boulevard on Redington Beach.
Deputies say 61-year-old Roger P. Galvin of West Sussex, England was crossing Gulf Boulevard from west to east, not in a crosswalk, in front of the Double Tree Resort, when he was struck by Lyons’ vehicle.

Galvin was transported to Bayfront Hospital with life threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.
Lyons refused medical treatment on scene.
Impairment and speed do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
The investigation continues.
