Pedestrian Struck by a Vehicle on Gulf to Bay Blvd in Clearwater, Remains Critically Injured

Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue were called to a crash involving a pedestrian.  The male pedestrian was transported with critical injuries this evening on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard just east of U.S. 19.

The male pedestrian has been identified as 15 year-old Maximus Gianniokis of Capetown, South Africa.

Gianniokis was transported by ambulance to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg as a trauma alert after the 8:02 p.m. incident.  As of Wednesday morning, he remains in critical condition.

The driver of the Lexus who struck him has been identified as a 43 year-old Tampa resident.

The preliminary investigation shows that the teenager was crossing Gulf to Bay Blvd against a red light crossing from south to north.
