Pedestrian Reportly Looking at Cell Phone Struck and Killed in Pinellas Park

Pinellas Park Police Traffic Homicide Investigators have completed their investigation at the scene and the following was determined.
This morning at approximately 6:42 a.m. 41 year-old Danielle Harb of St. Petersburg was attempting to cross 49th Street in the 8800 block, from the east side of the roadway to the west side.
A witness advised that Harb was looking at her cell phone and was not paying attention to her surroundings when she walked into the median lane. Harb was struck by a black Dodge Challenger being driven by a 41 year-old Pinellas Park woman. The vehicle was traveling northbound on 49 Street in the median lane.
Harb was transported from the scene to a Northside Hospital where she was pronounced deceased as a result of her injuries.
The driver of the Challenger remained on scene and cooperated with investigators.
No criminal charges or traffic citations are expected to be issued in this investigation.

A woman was killed this morning after being struck by a vehicle on 49th Street N in Pinellas Park.
The crash happened at approximately 6:42 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in the 8800 block of 49th Street North in Pinellas Park.
The adult female who was struck was transported to Northside Hospital where she died.
The adult female driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.
All of north bound 49th Street between 86 Avenue and 90th Avenue is closed.
All of south bound 49th Street remains open.
Police are asking drivers to avoid the area for the next several hours as investigators continue to investigate the crash.
