Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian on Seminole Boulevard near Orange Blossom Lane.
The crash occurred at approximately 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2022.
The pedestrian, 60-year-old Delia Manjarrez, died at the scene of the crash in the northbound lanes of Seminole Boulevard.
Deputies located the heavily damaged vehicle which was in a parking lot on the west side of Seminole Boulevard.
According to investigators, the 34-year-old female driver was traveling northbound in a 2007 Ford Escape on Seminole Boulevard. Manjarrez was crossing Seminole Boulevard from east to northwest, not in a designated crosswalk, when she was struck with the front passenger side of the 2007 Ford Escape.
According to investigators, speed and impairment do not appear to be factors in the crash.
All north and southbound lanes were closed between approximately 62nd Avenue to 54th Avenue N. The road closures continued for several hours as the PCSO Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) conducted their crash investigation.
