Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting in the area of 45th Avenue N and 39th Street. The incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. on Monday, March 15, 2021.
When deputies arrived, they observed a black sedan crashed into a fence. A male victim was found inside suffering from a gunshot wound.
Police say that the victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The victim was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The suspect is described as a light skinned Black or Hispanic male wearing a black hoodie and was last seen running westbound on 45th Avenue North.
The victim’s identity is not being released until the next of kin has been notified.
This is an active and on-going investigation.
