November 15, 2014
Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) have responded to investigate a Deputy involved crash.
The crash occurred at approximately 12:30 am on Saturday, November 15, 2014. The crash occurred on Park Boulevard and Johnson Boulevard.
Deputy Charles Blumberg was travelling west bound in a Ford Crown Victoria on Park Boulevard. 33 year-old Jonathan Roberts of St. Petersburg was travelling south bound in a 1998 Chevy Pickup on Johnson Boulevard and attempted to make a left hand turn onto Park Boulevard to head east bound. The vehicles collided in the center of the intersection.
Roberts was transported via ambulance to Bayfront Health – St Petersburg for minor injuries.
Alcohol or drugs are not a factor of the crash.
There is a traffic signal device at that intersection but no information was released by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office which indicates which driver may have failed to yield.
