Palm Harbor Woman Dies After Vehicle Submerged in Ditch

November 15, 2014

Kristel Oliver, a 41 year-old Palm Harbor woman, died about 3 AM this morning near the intersection of Forelock Road and Mistwood Drive in Unincorporated Tarpon Springs.

She was traveling in a 2011 Toyota Camry westbound on Forelock Road approaching Mistwood Drive. She failed to negotiate a curve and exited the roadway. After over-correcting, the vehicle rotated and traveled into a canal.

One caller to the Pinellas County 911 center reported that only the taillights of the vehicle were visible with the rest being submerged.

Upon arrival on-scene, Sunstar Paramedics reported the vehicle was fully submerged. It was unknown for a period of time if the vehicle was still occupied. Crews were eventually able to access Oliver who sustained fatal injuries and expired at the scene of the crash.
