Police investigate fatal shooting off Fairfield Avenue in St. Petersburg

Officers from the St. Petersburg Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 4100 block of Fairfield Avenue S.

The shooting occurred shortly after 7 a.m. on Monday, April 12, 2021.

The victim, 40 year-old Ronald Gary was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and died at the hospital.

Gary and his cousin, Keyshawn Smiley, age 17, reside at in the same home at 4114 Fairfield Ave. S.

This morning they got into an argument and Smiley shot Gary multiple times.

Police arrested Keyshawn Smiley, and charged him with 1st degree murder.
