Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to reports of multiple gunshots heard shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2021.
The incident was in the vicinity of the Palmetto Park Apartments at 1003 West Avenue in Clearwater.
A victim, identified as 22 year-old Ivan Cobbs Jr., was located off Palm Bluff Street and treated by paramedics. Cobbs Jr. was flown to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
He remains in the hospital in critical condition. No suspect has been arrested at this time. Witnesses described the shooter as a black male, about 20 years old, 6 feet tall and thin. He was wearing blue denim shorts and a light-colored hoodie.
