Police Say Resident Fatally Stabbed a Man that Forced Entry Into His St. Petersburg Apartment
St. Petersburg Police say that 23 year-old Zachary Eggleston was stabbed and killed early Sunday morning at approximately 1:30 a.m. when detectives responded to 545 77 Av N #108, reference a person stabbed.
Investigators determined that the Eggleston, forced his way into an apartment
where 29 year-old Jonathan Garcia, his girlfriend, and her daughter had been sleeping.
The two men got involved in a physical struggle and during the fight Garcia stabbed Eggleston.
Both men were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries. Eggleston later died at the hospital.
Police say that both men live in the same apartment complex but the Garcia did not know Eggleston.
This is still an ongoing investigation and no criminal charges have filed.
