Body Located After Reports of a Missing Swimmer off Clearwater Beach
The Clearwater Police Department and Clearwater Fire & Rescue Department, along with other agencies, responded to a missing swimmer call early today.
The call came in at 3:30 this morning in reference to a swimmer who was reported missing in the waters behind the Holiday Inn, 521 S. Gulfview Blvd.
Multiple personnel from both agencies began the search for the woman, a 40-year-old tourist from out of state. The Coast Guard and Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office have assisted in the search.
A man who was with the woman said she went into the water behind the hotel and never came out.
The missing woman’s body was located by a boater approximately 1 mile from shore about 12:20 p.m.
The woman has been identified as 40 year-old Allison Nicole Sullivan of Morristown, Tennessee.
It will be up to the medical examiner’s office to determine the cause of death. The investigation into the case continues.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Dunedin Fire Rescue, Coast Guard and FWC assisted in the search.
