Seminole woman facing attempted murder charges following knife attack at Pinellas Park Wawa

Pinellas Park Police continue investigating an incident at the Wawa at 3101 Gandy Boulevard.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:04 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024, when officers were dispatched to the Wawa for a woman attacking people with a knife.

37-year-old Christina Crane of Seminole entered the Wawa and appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance and experiencing excited delirium. She armed herself with a long fixed-blade knife obtained from the deli department. Once armed, she used the knife to stab an adult male in his left hand. It resulted in a bleed described as significant.

She then entered an extremely small office with a female employee, raised the knife above her head to stab the victim, swung the knife at the victim, and stated, “I will kill you!” She also threw down and smashed a large amount of property, primarily computer monitors, in addition to other miscellaneous property.

Both Crane and the male victim were transported to a local hospital for medical evaluations.

Crane was booked into the Pinellas County Jail in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 27, 2024, and is facing the following charges.

  • Aggravated assault
  • Attempted felony murder
  • Aggravated battery with a deadly weapon
  • Criminal mischief > $1,000
